Seeing through the trees

We can see through the trees now.  There really are other houses behind us through the woods!  I didn't think we'd ever be able to see them.  Now that it is getting colder and we've had a bit of wind, the leaves have fallen off the trees in mass numbers.  Everywhere we go, we can see a building or something we couldn't see before.  Georgia really does look different in the Fall.

This week I tried a new recipe- baked salmon.  I have never cooked fish, and I haven't eaten it regularly throughout my life.  However, Kroger had some fillets on sale so we thought we'd be adventurous and get our omega fatty-acids.  (Dr. Brown, my past nutrition professor, would have been proud)  It turned out pretty well.  I have discovered that learning how to cook meat well takes practice.  I'm sure one day I'll be able to cook things so they will taste great every time.

At work this week we had a new teller start.  She is originally from India.  It's quite fun to work with someone who has such a different accent.  Especially since I am getting used to hearing the southern drawl all day.  Imagine a conversation like this.  "(in a heavy Indian accent) Hello, welcome to Wells Fargo.  I can assist you right here."  "(with a heavy southern drawl) Well hi there.  I'd just like to cash this here check."
and so on.  It's great.  She is very nice, and I'm glad that we have someone who is catching on quickly since I will be leaving in a month.  I have been trying to get all my pre-program stuff figured out for nursing school, and it hasn't been easy to do while working so much.  Doctor's appointments, shots, and other things have taken a lot of time.

However, we saved enough time to put up our Christmas tree on Friday night.

I know it's before Thanksgiving, but we wanted to get it up so we could start enjoying it for a full month before we leave for Utah for Christmas.  Thanksgiving is going to be great.  Kind of weird for us to not be with our parents, but we are happy to have family out here to be with.  We are very grateful for all we have. We are so blessed to live in the home we do, and to have good jobs and a great ward.

And yes, that is Matt's signed Bobby Bowden picture in the background on the bookshelf.
