Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a different Thanksgiving Day this year.  Matt headed out to play football that morning with some guys from the ward, and I had to do a few things before we left to go eat at Chad and Hillery's house.  I went to go down to the field where Matt was playing, and as I arrived he was walking to his car.  He said he had been tackled and hurt his shoulder.  So, we spent a few hours of the day at the Emergency Room.  His has an AC separation in his shoulder.  The AC (acromioclavicular) joint is between the clavicle (collar bone) and part of bone coming off of the scapula (shoulder blade)A ligament connects the two bones, so his injury involved stretching and possible tearing of some of the fibers of the ligament.  His x-ray showed some space there where there shouldn't be.  Matt will go see an orthopedic doctor this week, and then I think he'll end up doing some physical therapy.  It is a self healing injury that often needs therapy to get the range of motion and strength back.

This is Matt's "real smile."  Haha.  He'd been given a nice shot of pain medication about 20 minutes prior so he was feeling the effects of it.  No pain, but pretty out of it.
By the time we got to Chad and Hillery's it was evening.  But we enjoyed some delicious leftovers, as well as the pumpkin pie we had made together the night before.

Matt was able to rest and hang out with the family while I was at work the day after Thanksgiving.  After work, we were able to see our Thanksgiving movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1.  LOVED IT!  I can't wait for the next one.  I definitely have Matt hooked on them now.  He wants to read the final book so he can figure out what happens before the movie comes out.

We stayed over at Chad and Hillery's until Saturday night after the BYU game.  During the end of the game, I had two friends climb up on the couch and snuggle with me.  Matt tried to take a picture for me, but right as he went to take it, Keslie fell off the couch.  The blur in the bottom right of the picture is Keslie, and you can see Heaton.  They were tired out from a day of Christmas decorating, and I benefited from their tiredness  :)
